Cloud Lake is 35 minutes south of Thunder Bay and about 20 min. from the Pigeon River US/CAN boarder off of Hwy 61. Ours is a simple rustic and private spot at the bottom of a huge cliff .To reach the camp we go down 72 stairs. This is where I work in the summer; for as long as possible actually. Rejean and I move out as soon as the ice leaves the shore (so we can have "running water"pumped from the lake). That is around the first week in May. With the wood cookstove, sauna and a couple of small electric heaters in my shop,we are "good" 'til the snow flies around Thanksgiving.

I have a wheel in front of a large window facing the lake .Here I make mugs and such from a red stoneware clay and porcelain and fire them in a small kiln that you can see in the left of the picture. Pots are dried down by the shore where it is always breezy.

The 10x10 shop was built about 15 years ago and has plenty of windows and shelving that I found at The Restore.

The raku birds are handbuilt and fired here as well, with the smoking buckets just outside the door.

During the winter months I work out of my basement in the city (as close to the woodstove as possible) and fire in the garage.
